Step 2: Pry and lift the arm rest of the interior door panel. Remove this panel.
Step 3: Lift and remove the window control switch-panel. Disconnect the wiring harness attached to the underside of the panel.
Step 4: Loosen and remove the Phillips screws (2) exposed by removing the panels in Step 3.
You can also use a 10mm socket/ratchet to remove these screws.
Step 5: Disengage and remove the retaining clip (1) just below the side mirror mounting area.
To disengage this clip, turn the Phillips head of the clip until it disengages, and then pull it from its position.
Step 6: Loosen and remove the Phillips screw (1) near the bottom of the interior door panel.
Step 7: Pry and remove the interior door handle's bezel.
Step 8: Pry the interior door panel away from the door frame. Remove it.
Step 9: Disengage the retaining tabs (we recommend using a flathead screwdriver) that hold the small panel inside the interior door handle in place. This exposes a Phillips screw (1) – remove it.
Step 10: Slide the interior door handle AWAY from the hinge side, and slide it out of its position.
NOTE: You may need to peel the water shield back a bit during the removal process.
Step 11: Disengage the locking rods (2) attached to the back of the door handle.
Step 12: Engage the rods to the new interior door handle, and slide it into position.
Step 13: Tighten the Phillips screw (1) to secure the interior door handle.
Step 14: Reattach the small trim panel inside the door handle.
Step 15: Reattach the interior door panel.
Simply reverse the removal process. Be sure to reconnect the wiring harness, as well as tightening the Phillips retaining screws. Also, don't forget to reattach the small trim panels we removed in the process!
