Step 1: Lift the vehicle's hood and support it with a broomstick or assistant.
Step 2: Using the flathead screwdriver, depress the retaining clip to release the hood strut from its mounting point on the hood. Do the same for the mounting point on the chassis.
Step 3: “Snap†the hood strut into position on BOTH ends.
NOTE: The retaining clip needs to be DEPRESSED while inserting the strut. Also, be sure that the SLEEVE end of the strut is attaching to the chassis, while the ROD end is attaching to the hood.
Step 4: Repeat this process for the strut on the other side of the vehicle.
