Step 1: Using the flathead screwdriver, remove the small, square panel just behind the interior door handle. Also, remove the small, circular panel that is at the bottom of the interior door handle.
Step 2: Remove the 10mm bolt that was exposed by removing the panel in the door pull.
Step 3: Lift the window switch-panel and disconnect the wiring harnesses.
Step 4: Using the flathead screwdriver, remove the bezel panel that surrounds the interior door handle.
Step 5: Remove the 10mm bolt that is behind the interior door handle, the one near the upper edge of the bezel panel (that we just removed), and then the two 10mm bolts that were exposed by removing the switch-plate.
Step 6: Gently pull the interior door panel free from the door frame.
Step 7: Pull the cables away from the interior door panel (on the back of the panel) and turn them to disengage them from the panel. Disconnect the wiring harness that is attached to the lower portion of the panel.
NOTE: We recommended the pliers as a tool required for removal in the event that any of the attachment tabs stayed with the door frame when you were removing the panel. Simply pull them out, and reattach them to their respective places in the panel.
Step 8: Remove the small trim panel that covers the mirror's mounting point.
Step 9: Disconnect the wiring harness that powers the side mirror.
Step 10: Remove the three 10mm bolts that secure the mirror to the door frame.
NOTE: Be sure to hold onto the side mirror as you are removing the bolts, as you don't want to have to clean broken glass from your garage floor or driveway!
If you would like to maintain the aesthetic appearance of the mirror, you can remove the black panel that usually comes with the mirror and replace it with the colored panel that is attached to your old side mirror.
Step 11: Feed the wiring through the opening in the door frame, and connect the wiring harness.
Step 12: Secure the new side mirror to the door by tightening the three 10mm retaining bolts.
Step 13: Reattach the trim panel that covers the mounting area.
Step 14: Reconnect all of the wiring harnesses, reattach the wires that attach to the interior door handle, and begin reattaching the interior door panel.
Step 15: Secure the door panel by tightening the 10mm retaining bolts.
Step 16: Replace the smaller trim panels and reconnect the window's switch-plate. Also, be sure to reattach the small plugs that cover the 10mm bolts in the door handle and interior door pull.
