Step 2: Using the Phillips screwdriver, unscrew the small Phillips screw that attaches the rubber gasket to the vehicle frame.
This thin gasket acts as a cushion for when the hood closes, and is located just to the inside of the headlight assembly.
Step 3: Remove the three 10mm mounting bolts that hold the headlight assembly in place.
The first two are located on the inner edge of the headlight assembly. The third bolt is located on the outer edge of the assembly, just beneath the headlight (between the headlight and the bumper).
Step 4: With a solid tug, you can now pull the headlight assembly from the vehicle.
You can disengage the tab in the back of the assembly if you'd like, but pulling on it will also disengage it.
NOTE: Sometimes, this small locking tab will stay with the vehicle when the headlight is removed. If this happens, simply remove it from the new headlight, and it will snap right into place upon installation.
Step 5: Disconnect the wiring harness from the back of the assembly to completely free the old headlight.
NOTE: If you ordered your replacement headlight from Go-Part.com, it likely includes new bulbs, as most of our models do. This saves you an installation step! However, if your particular model does not include new bulbs, simply turn the sockets counter-clockwise, remove them from the old assembly, and insert them into the new one!
Step 6: Connect the wiring harness to the back of the new headlight assembly.
Step 7: Mount the headlight by tightening the three 10mm mounting bolts.
When you push the assembly into place, be sure that the small tab engages. You will feel it "snap" into place.
Step 8: Reattach the rubber gasket that separates the headlight from the radiator/grille area.
