Step 2: Pry and remove the screw covers (2) located inside the door pull and interior door handle.
Step 3: Loosen and remove the Phillips screws (2) located behind these screw covers.
Step 4: Loosen and remove the Phillips screws (2) located along the bottom edge of the interior door panel.
Step 5: Using the door panel clip tool (or putty knife), pry and separate the interior door panel from the door frame.
A series of retaining pins holds the panel to the door frame. As you slide your tool between the panel and door frame, you'll feel a pin – when you do, pry outward.
Step 6: Disconnect the wiring harness (1) from the back of the interior door panel.
Step 7: Disengage the retaining clip (1) that secures the locking rod to the back of the interior door handle.
Step 8: Transfer any retaining pins that may have stayed with the door frame back to the interior door panel.
Step 9: Loosen and remove the T20 Torx screws (2) that secure the interior door handle to the door panel.
These screws are located on the BACK of the panel.
Step 10: Mount the new handle to the door panel by tightening the T20 Torx screws (2).
Step 11: To reattach the door panel, reconnect the wiring harness (1), re-engage the locking rod (1), and slide the panel into position. With a FIRM strike near each retaining pin, you can re-engage them, securing the panel to the door.
Step 12: Tighten the Phillips screws (4) to finalize the installation.
