Step 2: Pry and remove the trim panel inside the interior door handle, exposing Phillips screws (2). Loosen and remove these screws.
Step 3: Pry and remove the trim panel lining the interior door pull, exposing Phillips screws (2). Loosen and remove these screws.
Step 4: Pry and remove the interior door handle's bezel. Disconnect the rod attached to the back of the bezel by disengaging the clip.
Step 5: Using the door panel clip tool (or putty knife), pry and remove the interior door panel from the door frame.
A series of retaining clips line the door panel to attach it to the frame. Slide your tool between the door panel and the frame until you reach a clip. When you do, pry outward to disengage it.
Step 6: You can now remove the interior door panel. Disconnect the wiring harness (1) attached to the back of the interior door panel.
Step 7: To reattach the interior door panel, firmly strike the panel near each retaining clip, re-engaging it.
NOTE: Be careful not to damage the panel! Also, be sure to reconnect the wiring harness before reattaching the panel!
Step 8: Re-engage the rod to the back of the interior door handle, tighten the Phillips screws (4), and reattach the trim panels to complete the project.
