2001-2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser Turn Signal, Wiper Switch Replacement Instructions, Install, Change (2002 2003 2004)

Tools required:

T10 Torx Driver

10mm wrench

Phillips screwdriver

Flathead screwdriver

Step 1: Disconnect the vehicle's negative battery cable using the 10mm wrench.

Step 2: Pull and lower the swing panel beneath the steering column.

Step 3: Loosen and remove the Phillips screws (2) on the underside of the steering column.

Step 4: Pry and remove the UPPER and LOWER trim panels that surround the steering column.

Step 5: Loosen and remove the Phillips screws (2) on the top of the switch assembly.

Step 6: Disconnect the wiring harnesses (2 â€“ 1 on each side) from the backside of the switch assembly.

Step 7: You can now remove the switch assembly from the steering column.

Step 8: Loosen and remove the T10 Torx screws (2) that secure the turn signal/wiper switch to the switch-plate. Remove the switch.

Step 9: Mount the new turn signal/wiper switch to the switch-plate assembly by tightening the T10 Torx screws (2).

Step 10: Connect the wiring harnesses (2) to the back of the switch-plate assembly.

Step 11: Mount the switch-plate to the steering column by tightening the Phillips screws (2).

Step 12: Reattach the UPPER and LOWER trim panels that surround the steering column. Tighten the Phillips screws (2) to secure the panels.

NOTE: Be sure not to catch the protective foam between the panels!

Step 13: Close the swing panel underneath the dashboard.

Step 14: Reconnect the negative battery cable with the 10mm wrench.
