How do you Change, Replace, or Install 2001-2004 GMC Yukon, Tahoe, Suburban Tailgate Support Strut Replacement

Tools required:

Flathead screwdriver (small)

Step 1: Open the vehicle's tailgate, and support it using a 2x4, broomstick, or assistant.

Step 2: Using the flathead screwdriver, pry the retaining clips (1 at each end) to release them. This allows for removal of the support strut.

Step 3: Attach the new support strut by â€œsnappingâ€ each end into place.

NOTE: The SLEEVE end of the strut should be attached at the TOP.

Step 4: Repeat this process for the remaining strut.
