2000-2006 Nissan Sentra AC Heater Fan Speed Resistor Replacement Instructions, Install, Change (2001 2002 2003 2004 2005)

Tools required:

Phillips screwdriver (medium and small)

NOTE: For this repair, the components are located beneath the dashboard on the PASSENGER'S side of the vehicle.

Step 1: Open the vehicle's glove compartment. Slide the compartment to the LEFT and remove it from the dashboard.

Step 2: Loosen and remove the Phillips screws (2) that secure the underside panel in place.

NOTE: This panel will pull out from UNDERNEATH the glove compartment, exposing the blower motor assembly.

Step 3: Disconnect the wiring harness (1) attached to the fan speed resistor.

Step 4: Loosen and remove the Phillips screws (2) that secure the resistor to the blower motor assembly.

You may need to use 2 different screwdrivers, given the location of these screws.

Step 5: You can now remove the resistor from the vehicle.

Step 6: Insert the fan speed resistor into the blower motor assembly, and secure it by tightening the Phillips screws (2).

Step 7: Connect the fan speed resistor's wiring harness (1).

Step 8: Reattach the trim panel, and secure it by tightening the Phillips screws (2).

Step 9: Reattach the glove compartment by sliding it into position.
