Step 2: Using the flathead screwdriver, remove the retaining plug that secures the trunk liner over the tail light's mounting area.
Step 3: Pull the liner back to expose the tail light's mounting area.
Step 4: Disconnect the tail light's wiring harness.
Step 5: Loosen and remove the three 11mm retaining bolts that hold the tail light to the vehicle's chassis.
Step 6: Feed the wiring harness through the opening in the chassis, and pull the tail light assembly from the vehicle.
NOTE: If you ordered your replacement tail light from Go-Part.com, it likely includes new bulbs, sockets, and wiring, as most of our models do. This saves you an installation step! However, if your particular model does not, simply turn the sockets counter clockwise, remove the wiring harness from the old assembly, and attach the system to the new tail light. This process takes just a few moments!
Step 7: Feed the wiring harness through the opening in the chassis. Connect the new tail light's wiring harness.
Step 8: Mount the tail light to the vehicle by tightening the three 11mm retaining bolts.
Step 9: Cover the mounting area by securing the trunk liner. Re-engage the retaining clips to finalize the project.
