Step 2: Pry and life the power window control panel. Loosen and remove the Phillips screws (2) on the UNDERSIDE of the panel, and disconnect the wiring harness (1).
Step 3: Pry and remove the interior door handle's bezel.
Step 4: Pry and remove the screw covers (2) on the interior door pull. Loosen and remove the Phillips screw (1).
Step 5: Loosen and remove the Phillips screw (1) exposed by removing the power window control panel.
Step 6: Loosen and remove the Phillips screw (1) on the BOTTOM edge of the interior door panel.
Step 7: You can now LIFT and remove the interior door panel from the door frame.
Step 8: GENTLY peel and remove the water shield. Be careful not to tear it, as we'll need to reattach it later!
Step 9: Disengage the retaining clip (1) that secures the locking rod to the back of the interior door handle.
Step 10: Lift the EXTERIOR handle of the door handle assembly, and using the hammer/punch, punch the rivets (2) out.
Step 11: Using the drill with a 3/8 bit, drill out the center of the rivets.
NOTE: This makes room for us to use bolts/nuts during replacement.
Step 12: You can now remove the exterior door handle.
Step 13: Be sure that the rivets are now completely removed from the door frame.
Step 14: Move the new exterior door handle into position, and secure it by using the bolts/nuts.
NOTE: Use the adjustable wrench to hold the lock nuts in place, while tightening the Phillips screw heads.
Step 15: Engage the retaining clip (1) to secure the locking rod to the back of the handle assembly.
Step 16: Reattach the water shield.
Step 17: To reattach the interior door panel, slide the panel OVER the locking lever and onto the door frame.
NOTE: Be sure that you feed the wiring harness through the opening in the door.
Step 18: Tighten the Phillips screws (4).
The shorter screws are for the door pull!
Step 19: Reattach the screw covers (2), and the interior door handle's bezel.
Step 20: Reconnect the wiring harness (1), tighten the Phillips screws (2), and snap the power window control panel back into place.
