Step 2: Using the flathead screwdriver, pry and lift the window control switch-panel (from the armrest). Disconnect its wiring harness.
Step 3: Pry and remove the small plug panels (2) located inside the interior door handle and on the door's arm rest.
These panels cover screws.
Step 4: Disengage and remove the Phillips clip near the door hinge.
Turn the Phillips screw head, which releases the retaining clip. You can then remove the clip from the interior door panel.
Step 5: Using the Phillips screwdriver, loosen and remove the retaining screws (6) that hold the interior door panel to the door frame.
One is located behind each plug we removed, two are located on the underside of the arm rest, and two are located along the bottom edge of the interior door panel.
Step 6: Pry and remove the small trim panel that covers the side mirror's mounting area, as well as the bezel surrounding the interior door handle.
Step 7: Using the door panel clip tool (or putty knife) pry the interior door panel from the door frame. There are a series of clips that line the inner edge of the panel. Simply pull out when you are near a clip, and you will feel it disengage from the door frame.
Step 8: You can now remove the interior door panel.
Step 9: Loosen and remove the 10mm bolt (1) that secures the interior door handle to the door.
Step 10: Turn the interior door handle to disengage the handle rods from the back of the interior door handle.
Step 11: Mount the new interior door handle by attaching the handle rods and tightening the 10mm retaining bolt (1).
Step 12: Reattach the interior door panel.
Simply reverse the removal process. Be sure to reattach all trim panels, tighten all Phillips retaining screws (6), and reconnect the window control's wiring harness.
