Step 1: Pry and remove the trim panel that lines the area near the PASSENGER's feet.
Step 2: Open the glove compartment. Disengage the retaining clips (2) that keep the glove compartment upright, and lower the compartment. The resistor is now exposed.
Step 3: Disconnect the fan speed resistor's wiring harness (1).
Step 4: Using the 8mm socket/ratchet with an extension, loosen and remove the 8mm bolts (2) that secure the resistor to the vehicle.
Step 5: You can now remove the fan speed resistor.
Step 6: Insert the new fan speed resistor, and secure its position by tightening the 8mm bolts (2).
Step 7: Connect the wiring harness (1) to the new fan speed resistor.
Step 8: Re-engage the clips (2) that hold the glove compartment in place.
Step 9: Reattach the trim panel near the PASSENGER'S feet.
