How do you Change, Replace, or Install 1996-2002 Toyota 4Runner Door Handle (Interior) Replacement

Tools required:

Phillips screwdriver

Flathead screwdriver (small)

Step 1: Open the vehicle's door.

Step 2: Loosen and remove the Phillips screw (1) located inside the interior door handle.

Step 3: Slide the door handle assembly toward the HINGE end of the door, and pull it from the door panel.

Step 4: Disengage the retaining clip to disconnect the locking rod from the door handle assembly.

Step 5: Attach the locking rod to the interior door handle and secure it by re-engaging the retaining clip.

Step 6: Slide the door handle assembly into position, and secure it by tightening the Phillips screw (1).
