How do you Change, Replace, or Install 1993-1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee Tailgate Support Strut Replacement

Tools required:

6mm â€œstarâ€ socket (7mm socket or 1/4 inch socket will also work)

Flathead screwdriver

Step 1: Loosen and remove the two 6mm star bolts that mount the support struts to the top of your rear door.

Step 2: Using the flathead screwdriver, remove the retaining clips on the other end of the support strut.

Step 3: Remove the support strut from the rear door.

Step 4: Attach the new support strut to the vehicle.

You can snap the â€œclipâ€ end into place and tighten the two retaining bolts at the top of the struts.
