Initially offered as an upgrade to the popular Chevy Blazer, the Trailblazer became its own model in 2002. Perfect for use as a fleet vehicle, the Trailblazer rose to popularity quickly, and the 4-door rendition became available at dealerships in 2004. By taking the classic styling of their truck line and combining them with the features of an SUV, the Trailblazer allowed Chevrolet to move into the SUV market. Though the Suburban remained significantly popular, a mid-level option was necessary.
The Trailblazer’s run ended, however, when GM elected to replace the model with the Traverse, a similarly modeled vehicle that the automaker believed would fare much better in the marketplace. The switch occurred late in 2008, and the Trailblazer was no more. A new Trailblazer generation was introduced in Dubai in 2011, though market availability is still unknown.
The design is quite functional with a 5-door model being the most popular on roads today. A broad front-end leads to a wide body, maximizing the interior space and providing a solid base for the large vehicle. The tiered headlights are rectangular, holding true to the “truck” designs often seen with Chevrolet models.
Whether the issue is a small accident that resulted in broken headlight casings or the oxidation of the lenses themselves, replacing the headlights can do wonders for both the safety and appearance of a vehicle. Failure to replace broken or ineffective headlights can open the door to a slew of safety concerns and result in traffic citations.
